This website is operated by UrbanCt Developments (Pty) Ltd T/A Pineapple House Interiors (Registration number: 2017/101857/07), 145 Sir Lowry Road, Woodstock, Cape Town, 7925, South Africa (“Pineapple House Interiors”, “we”, “us”).

We respect your privacy and process your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

3. What personal information we collect

We may collect:

3.1 your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses;
3.2 order details, purchase history and correspondence with us;
3.3 payment information, which is processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details;
3.4 information you give us when you enquire about our interiors services, bespoke pieces or design projects;
3.5 technical information such as your IP address, browser type and how you use our website, collected through cookies and analytics tools.

4. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, enter a competition or visit our store. We also collect some information automatically when you use our website.

5. Why we use your personal information

We use your personal information to:

5.1 process and deliver your orders, and handle returns and refunds;
5.2 respond to your enquiries and provide customer service;
5.3 manage interiors and design projects you engage us for;
5.4 send you marketing communications, but only where you have opted in;
5.5 improve our website, products and services;
5.6 prevent fraud and keep our website secure;
5.7 comply with our legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements.

6. Direct marketing

We will only send you newsletters, promotions or other marketing if you have given your consent, or if you are an existing customer and the marketing relates to similar products or services. Every marketing message includes an option to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by emailing production@pineapplehouse.co.za.

7. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary with:

7.1 courier and delivery partners, to deliver your orders;
7.2 our payment provider, iKhokha, to process payments;
7.3 our website and e-commerce platforms (Squarespace and Shopify), email marketing provider and IT service providers;
7.4 our professional advisers, such as accountants and auditors;
7.5 authorities, where required by law.

All third parties are required to keep your information confidential and secure.

8. Cross-border transfers

Some of our service providers, including our website and e-commerce platforms, may store or process data outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to laws, binding agreements or policies that provide a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA.

9. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to make it work properly, remember your preferences and help us understand how visitors use the site. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

12.1 ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request access to it;
12.2 ask us to correct or delete inaccurate, outdated or unlawfully obtained information;
12.3 object to us processing your personal information, including for direct marketing;
12.4 withdraw your consent at any time;
12.5 lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

13. Children

Our website is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
